For about 15 years, I've been practicing bike touring as exercise, cheap/low impact camping and even "prepping/survival training".  I see it as an extension of martial arts/self-defense training (which has been the "ikigai" of my life  since 1976).

You might see some information about my recent bike tours here from time to time.  Lately, I've been doing "day trips" to Seal Beach - about a 40 mile round trip.  With a fully loaded bike, it's enough to get the sweat going for sure.
